Waiting on Wednesday [10]

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

 *************

The end of the Sookie Stackhouse series is upon us and I’m extremely curious to see what will happen to Sookie, Eric, and Bill. I’m not as excited about Dead Ever After as I thought I would be because the series is on a bit of a downslide but I’m still looking forward to it.

Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse #13)

THE FINAL SOOKIE STACKHOUSE NOVEL

There are secrets in the town of Bon Temps, ones that threaten those closest to Sookie—and could destroy her heart….

Sookie Stackhouse  finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.

Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.
But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough…

Great choice! I didn’t read the last Sookie book but I’m still dying to know how it all ends. I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist checking out spoilers first though. Hope you love the series finale!

You know, this is a series I never started. And I don’t get to watch it on tv as it’s on HBO. But I think I can get it now on Netflix. Hmm, might have to look. 🙂

@Lucy: The most recent book is definitely better than some of the ones that came before it, but it’s not as good as early Sookie.

@Sandy and Melissa: I hope you’ll give the books a shot! But as Melissa says, there’s always the TV show. 🙂
