Extra post this week because I’m always excited when a new Laurell K. Hamilton book comes out. Flirt was no exception. I couldn’t wait to read it and I’m really happy with it.

In this installment, we get back to Anita’s necromancy. Anita is approached by two separate clients to raise zombies she doesn’t want to raise, and then things turn to pot when one of them tries to force the issue.

It was really great to read a story involving zombies again. Anita being an animator is one of my favourite parts of the series and we sometimes go a long while between zombie raisings. This time, however, it’s front and centre and the story reads really well. Like Micah, Flirt‘s a lot shorter than the average Anita novel but it’s still a tight, cohesive story that also advances the series storylines, particularly addressing her beasts and werelions, which was something I’d been wondering about. Can’t wait to see where Anita goes next!
