Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson #2) by Patricia Briggs

In Blood Bound, the second book in Patricia Briggs‘ series, Mercy gets more involved with the local vampires.  The plot centres around a demon-ridden vampire, a great, rather original MacGuffin, but there is also some wonderful development in Mercy’s romantic and platonic relationships.  The author really expands her world in this book, giving all of the cast, including the supporting ones, a lot of depth.

I don’t want to give too much of the plot away but I will say that this is an extremely satisfying read, both on its own and as a continuation of threads from Moon Called.  As I said when I discussed the first book, I’m a huge fan of this series and love to revisit these stories.
